SUPERHERO MAKEOVER

Wonder Twins activate. Form of.....Two's Company New Superhero collection.
This past week in New York the front of Two's Company showroom was turned into Superhero Headquarters. Armed with neon spray paint and some mannequins from Nycdisplay my coworker Keith and I turned our stock mannequins into caped crusaders ready to take on any Super villain.

I even picked up some neon colored adhesive backed craft foam from Pearlpaint to make a superhero shield.

A Big Thank you to Supima Cotton. They mentioned my Diffa's Dining By Design Coverage on their blog . If you haven't already checked it out you can do so here.

Macy's Flower Show

Every things coming up roses and pink Flamingos at Macy's 2009 spring Flower Show. This past week while working in New York I quickly made my way to check out the always amazing Macy Flower Show. Turning over part of its store to incredible floral displays. Using over a million flowers from all of the world, horticulturist created wonderful displays that attracted thousands of visitors. "Dream in Color" highlighted 10 specialty gardens, flamingo topiary centerpieces, and flowers of every color and variety imaginable. The garden environments contained thousands of exotic trees and flowering plants. Amazing details were everywhere you looked. But not to be outdone by the live flowers inside were the outside windows where thousands of handmade paper flowers filled the windows in fanciful gestures.

I'm working in Highpoint this week for Furniture Market doing Tozai Home and have been doing a daily drive by trying to get a glimpse into Oly's new windows. Here are some pictures that I took during the April 08 market.

A wonderful Band tail pigeon painting in the vein of John Audubon.

Gabriel Chair shown in Hickory mohair. Flower drop chandelier.

The Hannah Sofa with antique white carved details, raffia upholstery and nailhead trim.

DIFFA: DINING BY DESIGN

Get ready for sensory over load. This past weekend while working in New York for Tozai Home I attended DIFFA: DINING BY DESIGN at Pier 94. DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS is one of the country’s largest supporters of direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk. Merging care and commerce, supporters of DIFFA come from all fields of fine design and the visual arts, including: architecture, fashion design, interior design, photography and consumer product design.

Tracy reese brought neon ethnic chic to the plate. Reese’s table showcased ultra-feminine pieces layered with intelligent nostalgia, charm and luxury; a distinctive look that the designer has since become known for.
